The Missions Division prepares workers for effective cross-cultural ministry.

While studying missions, you will receive balanced, professional training for the huge task of mission work. Class discussions, debates, missiological research, guest mission lecturers, mission chapels, simulated cross-cultural games, international meals, missionary conventions, Jungle Camp, and other events and practical experiences provide training to put you on the cutting-edge of critical issues impacting missions.
The missions instructors base their courses upon effective missions philosophy and solid biblical principles.

Missions Requirements

Program Objectives

In keeping with the Institutional Goals, the Missions Program is designed specifically:

1. To help the student come to a commitment of fulfilling the Great Commission of our Lord and Savior.

2. To help the student arrive at an understanding of God’s heartbeat to reach every person with the gospel, as revealed in the entirety of Scripture.

3. To assist the student in developing an understanding of concepts relative to living and working in a foreign culture, including culture shock and the cross-cultural communication of the Gospel.

Course Requirements are as follows (Total 120 credits)

General Education, 40 credits, consisting of:
College Study Skills, 1 credit; English Composition, 6 credits; History of Western Civilization I, 3 credits; Biological Science Survey, 3 credits; General Psychology, 3 credits; Speech Communication, 3 credits; Introduction to Philosophy, 3 credits; Cultural Anthropology, 3 credits; Language, 6 credits; Literature Elective, 3 credits; History Elective, 3 credits; Fine Arts Elective, 3 credits.

Bible/Theology, 39 credits, consisting of:
Bible Survey, 6 credits; Gospels, 3 credits; Acts, 3 credits; Pentateuch I, 3 credits; Christian Beliefs, 3 credits; Theology of Holiness, 3 credits; Methods of Biblical Interpretation, 3 credits; Systematic Theology, 6 credits; Romans, 3 credits; Bible/Theology Electives, 6 credits.

Professional Education, 41 credits, consisting of:
Personal Evangelism, 3 credits; Survey of Missions, 3 credits;  Contemporary Missions, 3 credits; World Religions, 3 credits; Church History, 3 credits; World Evangelism, 3 credits; Foundations of Biblical Preaching, 3 credits; Principles of Leadership 3 credits; Church Planting and Discipleship, 3 credits; Professional Electives, 8 credits; Missionary Internship, 6 credits.

Missionary Internships are usually done in the summers between the sophomore and junior and senior years.
