Graduation Rate

According to the Association for Biblical Higher Education, the graduation rate is based on the number of students from a given year who have graduated within 150% of the time published as required for the program. PVBI graduation rate for first-time, full-time students who committed to a program starting Fall 2016 and completed a program by 2022 was 80% (n=8 out of 10).

Academic/Student Learning Outcomes

The Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) are articulated in the Mission Statement and the Institutional Goals (spiritual, academic, social, practical, see Catalog, pp. 8-9).  Since the faculty and staff members get to know students personally, they are asked to indicate formally how well PVBI is achieving the stated goals.  Their specific ratings on a scale of 1 to 6 each year indicate that PVBI is achieving the stated goals in students’ lives.

Graduates in Ministry / Employment Rate

Ninety percent of the four-year graduates from 2017 to 2021 are active in ministry and/or employed in a related field, including ministers’ wives (n=45 out of 50); in addition, one graduate is taking further education. In addition to the United States, graduates are currently serving in 18 countries outside the US: Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Israel, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Northern Ireland, Papua New Guinea, Romania, Russia, South Africa, and Vanuatu. PVBI alumni have also served in Bahamas, Cayman Islands, Costa Rica, China, Dominican Republic, Egypt, Eritrea, Ecuador, Ethiopia, Germany, Ghana, Hong Kong, Italy, Mexico, Mongolia, Namibia, Nigeria, Peru, Republic of Burundi, Taiwan, Ukraine.

Transfer Credits and Graduates Pursuing Advanced Education

As additional evidence of academic quality the Academic Dean maintains a list summarizing the accredited colleges and universities that have granted transfer credit as well as 19 graduate schools and seminaries that have accepted 60 PVBI graduates to pursue graduate studies.

Student Services

Students rate their satisfaction with various aspects of campus life on the commercially available Ruffalo Noel Levitz Student Satisfaction Inventory, which is administered in many other ABHE schools.  On a scale of 1 to 7, students indicate they are well satisfied.  In fact, students indicated higher levels of satisfaction at Penn View, than their peers did on average at ABHE schools generally.

Retention Rate

PVBI retention rate for first-time, full-time freshmen in Fall 2021 who committed to a program and returned to continue in Fall 2022 was 89% (n=8 out of 9). (Freshman to Sophomore Retention)
