Academic/Student Learning Outcomes

The Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) are articulated in the Mission Statement and the Institutional Goals (spiritual, academic, social, practical, see Catalog, pp. 8-9).  Since the faculty and staff members get to know students personally, they are asked to indicate formally how well PVBI is achieving the stated goals.  Their specific ratings on a scale of 1 to 6 each year indicate that PVBI is achieving the stated goals in students’ lives.

Graduates in Ministry

Eighty-percent of the four-year graduates from 2017 to 2020 are active in ministry, including ministers’ wives (n=35 out of 43); in addition, 4 graduates are taking further education.  In addition to the United States, graduates are currently serving in 18 countries outside the US: Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Israel, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Northern Ireland, Papua New Guinea, Romania, Russia, South Africa, and Vanuatu.

Transfer Credits and Graduates Pursuing Advanced Education

As additional evidence of academic quality the Academic Dean maintains a list summarizing the accredited colleges and universities that have granted transfer credit as well as 19 graduate schools and seminaries that have accepted 60 PVBI graduates to pursue graduate studies.

Student Services

Students rate their satisfaction with various aspects of campus life on the commercially available Ruffalo Noel Levitz Student Satisfaction Inventory, which is administered in many other ABHE schools.  On a scale of 1 to 7, students indicate they are well satisfied.  In fact, students indicated higher levels of satisfaction at Penn View, than their peers did on average at ABHE schools generally.
